As you can see from the poster, today's blog post is on "Guidance in the journey of life" featured by my lovely brother, Dr. Daniel B. Yidana (Can you see any resemblance, most people say we look alike, I will leave you to judge, lol...)

ABOUT DANIEL B. YIDANA

Daniel B. Yidana is a Christian medical doctor. He believes in
developing a true relationship with God where you are
empowered to resist the wiles of various false doctrines
through a devoted study of God’s word. He is currently doing a
Masters in Clinical Dermatology at King’s College London and
hopes to be of meaningful service in the vineyard of Christ.

GUIDANCE IN THE JOURNEY OF LIFE

Dear friends,
Every New Year brings with it an avalanche of new encounters
for which we have to make decisions on. The life of the
Christian is ever so buffeted with the need to take a step on
many issues spanning all aspects of life.
It sometimes becomes overwhelming when we seem to find it
difficult to take the decisions. We may turn to family, friends
and increasingly, social media to find answers.
Many times we get disappointed in ourselves when it becomes
evident that we totally neglected the will of God in our many
endeavours.
What we need as Christians as this year unfolds, is to desire
true guidance from God. I am not talking about the great desire
for prophetic revelations of the day-to- day matters of our
personal lives and a great dependence on mystical revelations
that seem to keep us in the shackles of false commitment to the
work of Christ.
Psalm 25:4-5: “Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
Lead me in Thy truth, and teach me: for Thou art the God of my
salvation; on Thee do I wait all the Day”. This Scripture speaks
of the true desire for guidance in the great issues of life and godliness.

God has a plan for our lives- and this He so desires to
teach and show us if we accept His guidance.
Guidance comes from accepting that God’s will for us
supersedes any other need we may want and the readiness to
walk in His chosen path. We need not know the details of all
the steps God will guide us into, we need a humble trust that
God will never lead us into destruction.
Let us not trivialise guidance into a ritual where we want to
know about what we will eat or drink- God guides us in the
issues of Life. Regarding all of the questions we may have, the
Bible provides us with specific principles to help us in arriving
at the right decisions. In the weightier matters, we will be wise
to combine God’s biblical principles and a patient rest in His
overruling power to lead us just where He wants us to be.

I pray that this year will draw you closer to God alone, and
His divine word as we take decisions that please Him.

Q: What is your favourite Bible verse?

Daniel: Proverbs 22:4 "By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, honor and life".

Q: Which Bible character do you associate yourself with and why?

Daniel: I associate myself with David. His persistence, determination and courage in difficult times was phenomenal. His desire for God was deep and he had great understanding as well as a forgiving heart.
